City Council meeting Thursday

The Harrison City Council will meet in special session at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 9, in council chambers at City Hall, 118 Industrial Park Road.

Items on the agenda for the special meeting include an agreement with Entergy for relocating utilities as part of improvements to Goblin Drive, consideration of bids for the proposed fire substation adjacent to the Creekside Community Center and consideration of bids for renovation of Camp Jack on South Pine Street.

Standing council committees are set to meet immediately after the special council meeting. Items on the agenda for committees include:

• Condemnation of a piece of property on South Hickory.

• Consideration of an extended lease between the city and the Jack Williams Veterans Resource Center for the Camp Jack facility.

• Consideration of a resolution endorsing Automated Fabrication & Powdered Coating, LLC to participate in the Tax Back Program under the state Consolidated Incentive Act of 2003.

• An update on legislation coming out of the state General Assembly regarding crypto mining.

• Consideration of a resolution naming a new Perpetual Care Committee chairperson.

• Consider partnership opportunity with the Boone County Conservation District to address poison hemlock.

Committee meetings are for council members to discuss items before they go to the full city council for formal action. As such, the agenda might be altered prior to the meeting. Committees will take no formal action.

Both meetings are open to the public.
