Service: 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home, Marshall, with burial at Canaan Cemetery, Marshall; Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at the funeral home.

Juanita (McFarlan) Yancey, age 81, of Harrison, passed away on Tuesday, April 9 (2013) at Hospice of the Hills Hospice House in Harrison. She was born Sept. 9, 1931, at Checotah, Okla., to Andy and Eva (Hembrey) McFarlan.

Juanita was a homemaker and head cook at Eagle Heights Elementary until her retirement. She was of the Presbyterian faith. She loved making a garden, working in her flowerbeds and watching birds at her feeders out her back window. Juanita showed her love and gratitude to her family by making fried pies and jelly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Clifford Yancey; six brothers, Walter, Melvin, Bill, Willard, Albert and Delbert McFarlan; and one son-in-law, Roger Bobbitt.

Survivors include three daughters, Sue Burleson and husband, Charles, of Yellville, Helen Bobbitt, of Huntsville, and Ann Miller and Wayne Bailey, of Harrison; five grandchildren, Peggy Martin and husband, Steve, of Yellville, Sherrie Cox and husband, Steve, of Springdale, Anita O’Neal and husband, Barry, of Lead Hill, Shawn Bobbitt and wife, Misty, of Nixa, Mo., and Scott Burleson and wife, Tina, of Yellville; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lorene Watts, of Marshall, Dorothy Colley, of Mountain Home, and Jean Preston, of Tennessee; one brother, Charles McFarlan, of Omaha; two special friends, Pauline Coles, of Harrison, and JoAnne Bailey, of Bergman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, with Barry O’Neal officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at the Chapel. Burial will be in Canaan Cemetery in Marshall.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Mathis, Charles McFarlan, Bill Silver, Steve Cox, Scott Burleson, Shawn Bobbitt and Steve Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff at Hospice of the Hills, and Dr. Ronald Reese and staff.

At the families’ request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Hills, 501 East Sherman Avenue, Harrison, AR, 72601, in memory of Juanita Yancey.
