Supporters, friends and members of Harrison Regional Circle of Friends came together Thursday, Nov. 13 for the organization’s annual a la Carte fundraiser held at the Quality Inn in Harrison.
The crowd of close to 200 enjoyed a food sampling party of various foods displayed in party style and donated by 13 local businesses — 11 restaurants, a specialty cake shop and a local deli.
As attendees enjoyed fellowship and food samplings they were entertained by a local DJ and offered the opportunity to make bids on a host of silent auction items displayed in the center of the banquet room. Items consisted of various gift baskets, art and photography, lodgings, Razorback and athletic items, knives, a gun, quilts, and an array of other personalized and crafted donations.
A generous check presentation was made by Harness Roofing Incorporated employees in the amount of $16,335.38.
Joe and Kathryn Nance, founders of the local Circle of Friends, formerly TWIGGS, were present and introduced a special guest, 3-year-old Tatum Keller, a former patient at the Arkansas Children Hospital. Tatum attended the event with her mother Jamie.
Among an evening of fun, silent and live auction entertainment, and visiting with friends and colleagues, patrons helped raise more than $23,136 for the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, located in Little Rock. That total is projected to rise before the a la Carte finalization and is separate from the presentation made by Harness Roofing employees.
