Service: Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at Mary Mother of God Catholic Church, with burial at Maplewood Cemetery; Visitation: 10 a.m. with rosary vigil at 10:40 a.m. at the church, with arrangements by Holt Memorial Chapel.

Al Buxton, of Rogers and formerly of Harrison, passed from this life on Monday, Nov. 20 (2017) at Mercy Hospital in Rogers. He was 73 years old.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. followed by a rosary vigil at 10:40 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. all at Mary Mother of God Catholic Church. Father Jim Fanrak will officiate. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

The son of Alvin Fred Buxton Sr and Mary Allen (Wall) was born on Aug. 27, 1944, at Washington, Missouri.

Al was a graduate of the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science. He worked at Holt Memorial Chapel for 30 years as a funeral director and embalmer before retiring. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Vietnam War. Al was a former longtime member of Mary Mother of God Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus and was a current member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers.

His daughter, Julie (Buxton) Crowley, and his parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Buxton; one son and his wife, Tom and Gia Buxton; one daughter and her husband, AnneMarie and Todd Greene; and seven grandchildren, Alyssa, David, Jonathon, Rachel and Rebekah Crowley, and Jake and Julia Greene.
