Service: 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, Okla., with interment at Shady Point Cemetery, Shady Point, Okla.; Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Holt Memorial Chapel.

Albert George “AG” Rogers, 82, of Lead Hill, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 12 (2018) in Fayetteville.

AG was born Feb. 23, 1935, in Peno, Oklahoma, to Henry Franklin and Edith Ray (Brooks) Rogers.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. AG was a Christian who loved the Lord and attended Peel Full Gospel Church. He enjoyed studying his Bible and teaching Sunday school. AG was an avid fisherman who always wanted to stay long enough to catch one more fish. He was friendly to everyone and felt he never met a stranger.

AG was a retired meat market manager and has owned his own store and processing plant. He was always happy and was often known as the whistling butcher. After retirement he stayed busy going to his grand and great-grandchildren's sporting, band, and school events. He tried not to miss one. His family feels so blessed to have had him for such a long time. The men in his family are thankful for his guidance, leadership, and example. He will always live on in our hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Duane; and brother, Glenn Rogers.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Margie Ruth; daughter and son-in-law, Theanna and Gregg Benefiel of Marshall; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Lesa Rogers of Harrison; grandchildren, James and Amy Benefiel, Katie Benefiel, Ashton, Kolby and Emmalee Rogers; great-grandchildren, Allie and Gavin Bryant, Gregg Benefiel, Cassandra Benefiel, Sawyer Boyd, and Samuel Benefiel; sisters and husbands, Peggy Kazmirski of Ft. Smith, Brenda and Darrell Borum of Arkoma, Oklahoma, and Debbie and Bill Frye of Greenwood; brother and wife, Billy Jack and Glenda Rogers of Arkoma, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Holt Memorial Chapel.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, Oklahoma, with Curly Johnson and David Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Point Cemetery, Shady Point, Oklahoma.
