Kenneth Bryan Young, age 65, of Everton, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 9 (2018) in Harrison. He was born April 4, 1952, at Harrison, the son of Kenneth and Juanita (Barger) Young.

He would be the first to tell you his name was Bryan, not Kenneth. Known by hundreds from his years of work at Edwards Grocery, he was a friend to all who met him. He never went anywhere that he didn't talk to someone that he had helped at Edwards, even up until the time that he was in the hospital and Mt. Vista. Bryan had a big heart and a way of making people know that he was glad to be their friend. He faced many obstacles in his life, but had a great determination to help and please others.

Bryan accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a young age and attended church at Rally Hill and also Olvey Bible Church. He graduated from Valley Springs in 1970. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas Razorbacks.

Bryan enjoyed living in rural Boone County for his entire life, on a farm raising cattle and hogs.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Claude and Eula Barger and Ernest and Hattie Young.

He is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Juanita Young; a sister, Beverly Taylor and brother-in-law Rick Taylor; niece Brittney Breedlove; nephew, Dusty Breedlove and his pride and joy, great-nephew and great-niece, Reid and Reese Breedlove, all of Everton; and many family, friends and neighbors that will mourn his passing.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison, with burial in the Patton Cemetery at Pyatt. Pastor Bobby Brown and Bill Ramsey will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Mark Billings, Terry Young, Odom Haley, Billy Ed Hefley, Joe Hefley, Reid Breedlove and David Breedlove. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Valley Springs Class of 1970.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Valley Springs School Foundation, P.O. Box 640, Valley Springs, AR 72682 or the Olvey Bible Church.
