Charles “Rube” Youngblood, 80, of Harrison, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Feb. 16 (2019). The son of Dewey and Josephine Youngblood was born on Jan. 25, 1939, in Harrison.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. both on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Holt Memorial Chapel. Brother George Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Omaha Cemetery. Pallbearers are Danny Stone, Larry Berry, Chuck Sitton, David Sitton, Ronny Sitton and Carl Blevins.

Charles was a member of Ozark Baptist Church in Bergman. He would light up when telling stories of old cars, trucks, dump trucks and tractors, having owned and operated Youngblood Excavating for many years. His wisdom in fixing all things and sense of humor will forever be with us.

He and Mittie loved their family and made providing for their needs a priority. They were always on the go, enjoying old car shows, camping, and traveling around with their travel trailer in tow to visit friends, family, and places yet unseen, or in search of the next best deal on a better travel trailer or a better truck to pull it. Many great trades and swaps were made over the years when they were still able to enjoy camping.

Charles has a perfect camping site now in his heavenly home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cowetia Flannery, of California; stepmother, Virginia Youngblood; Becky’s mother, Esta Lee Yarbrough; son-in-law, Tommy Elder; and grandson, Eric Wilson.

Survivors include his loving wife of almost 28 years, Mittie Youngblood; daughter, Becky Elder, of Omaha; two stepchildren, Donna (Michael) Gray, of Greenbrier, and George (Sherri) Smith, of Highland; granddaughter, Heather Wilson, of Harrison; step-grandchildren, Josh (Lydia) Smith, of Bergman, J.D. Gray, of Conway, and Ashley (Caleb) Simmers, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and half-brother, Mike (Kathy) Youngblood, of Harrison.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Legacy Hospice and Hillcrest Home for their exceptional care and to dear neighbors and friends for their visits and encouragement.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Omaha Cemetery Association, c/o Joetta Atchison, 14727 Old Springfield Road, Omaha, AR 72662.
