Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with interment at Maplewood Cemetery; Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at the funeral home.

David Paul Shockley, age 71, of Harrison, died Monday, Aug. 14 (2017), in Texas.

He was born Feb. 19, 1946, in Harrison, the son of Elmer and Pauline (Steen) Shockley.

David was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John E. Shockley; and his sister, Joan C. Nelson.

David was a United States Marine veteran having served in the 5th Division, 3rd Battalion. He was an independent truck driver and owner of Cricket Creek RV Estates.

David is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda Bassett, Alice and Jim Barclay, and Tammy and Kevin Davis; his fiancée, Jean Still; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 25, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Brother Robert Shaddox officiating.

Honorary pallbearers are David’s family and friends.

Interment is in Maplewood Cemetery with military graveside honors.
