Don Carlos Tackett

Service: 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at Holt Memorial Chapel, with burial at Maplewood Cemetery; Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at Holt Memorial Chapel.

Don Carlos Tackett, of Lead Hill, passed from this life on Tuesday, Aug. 15 (2017) at his home. He was 75 years old.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at Holt Memorial Chapel with Pastor Curly Johnson and John Ginn officiating. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before service time at the funeral home.

The son of George Abner and Lola Ione (Clark) Tackett was born Nov. 8, 1941, at Bear Trail.

His parents; one daughter, Shelia Jean (Barnett) Hensley; one son, Samuel Leon Barnett; five sisters, Mary Elizabeth Tackett, Eva Florene Hadley, Anne Modeen Ginn, Kathleen Champion and Mableen Ginn; and two brothers, Danny Allen and Henry Floyd Tackett preceded him in death.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Dorothy Jean (Raby) Barnett Tackett; three sons, James Parker and wife, Rhonda, Gary Barnett and wife, Rachel (Beavers) Barnett, and Jessie Eutah Ragan-Tackett; two daughters, Donna Kay (Tackett) Keeling and Melisa (Barnett) and husband, Tom Thompson; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and lots of friends and family.
