Service: Celebration of Life at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Holt Memorial Chapel; Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Holt Memorial Chapel.

Don Mitchell Sperry, of Bergman, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 22 (2013) at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison. He was 74 years old.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Holt Memorial Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, also at the Chapel. Pastor George Smith will officiate.

The son of Lloyd Mitchell and Wanda Olive (Southerland) Sperry was born on Nov. 9, 1938, in Keyline, Wyo. Don worked as an electrician and a locksmith throughout his life. He also owned the Bergman One Stop from 1994 to 2006 in which he had made many dear friends. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the National Guard.  

He enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards, and his latest interest was being a Ham Radio operator. Don was also a handyman extraordinaire. He could fix anything!

Don was a member of the Ozark Baptist Church. He really loved his church family!

His parents and a sister, Dion Sperry, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Suzette Ann “Sue” (LePere) Sperry, of the home; two daughters and their husbands, Tammy Lea and Donald Gene Jones, and Lynn Marie and David Joseph Hancock; five grandchildren, Mitchell Gahlbeck and wife, Stefanee, Nick Gahlbeck, Donovan Hancock, Sarah Hancock, and Ben Hancock; one great-granddaughter, Madison Grace Gahlbeck; one brother, Duane Sperry and wife, Mary; four sisters and their husbands, Dorothy and Larry Cruzen, Delores and Ted Smith, Donna and Wayne Scheiner, and Denise and Gregg Peters; and many nieces and nephews, each of whom was his favorite.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ozark Baptist Church, P.O. Box 31, Bergman, AR 72615.
