Donald Sebastian Gibson, 84, beloved husband of Mary Lou Gibson, passed away at Hospice House on Monday evening, Nov. 12 (2018).

Don was retired from the USAF as a Master Sergeant after 24 years of service. His last duties were working with the ARIA program tracking the Apollo Space Missions.

He moved to Arkansas in 1978, where he attended North Arkansas Community College and then the College of the Ozarks. He was an honor student and graduated with a degree in English. Locally Don worked as manager for both Bellefonte and the Bypass Exxon stations.

Don leaves behind his widow, Mary Lou; sons, Gerald (Betty) Gibson, of Hydro, Oklahoma, and David (Janie) Gibson, of Titusville, Florida; daughter, Cheryl Thomas, of Ocoee, Florida; daughter-in-law, Dessie Gibson, of Parma, Missouri; and stepsons, Craig Snyder of Pembrook Pines, Florida, Kevin Snyder, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Tim (Tammy) Snyder, of Marble Falls.  

Don has one living brother, Gerald Zowie, of Dallas, Oregon, and a sister-in-law, Joy Zowie, of Beeville, Texas; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Sebastian and Ruth ( Johnson) Zowie, and a son, Steve Gibson, of Parma, Missouri.

There will be no services at this time.

Donations may be made to St. Jude’s, Northside Church of Christ, or Hospice House.
