Dorothy Wilson Villines, 97, Harrison

Dorothy (Skaggs) Wilson Villines, of Harrison, passed away Thursday, March 24 (2011) at Hillcrest Home, Harrison. She was 97 years old.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 25, at Holt Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at Holt Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Shaye Fountain officiating. Burial will be at Summers Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Patrick, Sr., David Patrick, Jr., Kevin Hausley, Clabe Presley, Ken Hullett, Keith Wilson and Layton Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be all the great-grandchildren, Dr. Charles Klepper and the volunteers and staff at Hillcrest Home.

Mrs. Villines was born Aug. 26, 1913, to Bill and Della Skaggs at Walnut. She married Woodie Wilson on Nov. 4, 1928. She and Woodie had two children, Jim and Shirley Wilson. The family lived in Newton County until 1947, when they moved to Harrison. Woodie passed away in 1982. Dorothy later married Woodrow Villines and they lived in Harrison. Woodrow passed away in 1993. Dorothy continued to live in the Northvale addition until 1996, when she moved to the Harrison Retirement Center. In 2004, she moved to Hillcrest Home, where she lived until her death.

Mrs. Villines worked at the Boone County Hospital (now North Arkansas Regional Medical Center) for 25 years. She retired in 1978 to care for her husband. She loved her family and friends very much and was always ready to help anyone who needed her. She will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Woodie Wilson; second husband, Woodrow Villines; nine brothers and sisters; and her son, Jim Wilson.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Patrick and her husband, Paul of Harrison; three grandchildren, David Patrick, Sr. of Tulsa, Okla., Rebecca Vancuren of Harrison and Keith Wilson and wife Colleen of Harrison; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
