Service: 10 a.m. Monday, June 27, at Nelson's Green Forest Chapel, with interment at Zion Hill Cemetery, Green Forest; Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at Nelson's Green Forest Chapel. 

Edward “Eddie” Lee Roberts, a resident of Green Forest, was born May 24, 1949, in Alpena, a son of Otto Henry and Rosella “Rosie” (Warren) Slape. He departed this life Friday, June 17 (2016) in Aurora, Colorado, at the age of 67 years.

Eddie proudly served his county in the Army Reserves. He worked at Tyson Foods of Green Forest and the Tyson Truck Shop, where he retired after 43 years. One of his favorite pastimes was working on cars and trucks. He was a gifted mechanic.

On June 27, 1970, he was united in marriage with Linda Sue Young who survives him of the home. 

He is also survived by his two sons, Greg Roberts and wife Lisa and Timothy Lee Roberts; two grandchildren, Austin Kent and Brittanie Rose-Marie Roberts, all of Green Forest; and a host of other relatives, friends and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto Henry and Rosella “Rosie” (Warren) Slape, and son, Michael Roberts.

Pallbearers will be Homer Myers, Erton McNair, Tim Ogier, Carl Wayne Young, Scott Tipton and Jason McCreary. Honorary pallbearers will be the gentlemen from the Tyson Truck Shop.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, June 27, at Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel, with Mark Young officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Cemetery, Green Forest, under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
