Etha Kathleen Caton

Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Holt Memorial Chapel, with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery; Visitation: Noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Holt Memorial Chapel.

Etha Kathleen Caton, of Harrison, passed from this life on Saturday, Oct. 22 (2016) at Hillcrest Home. She was 93 years old. 

The daughter of James William “Jim” and Minnie Mary (Binkley) Dees was born on May 30, 1923, at Bergman.

Etha attended White Oak Church. She loved sewing, watching sports, especially baseball, listening and singing gospel music, and cooking for her family and friends. Etha also enjoyed traveling with family. 

Her husband, Woodrow Jack Caton; one daughter, Patsy Hefley; son-in-law, John David Hefley; grandson, Raymond Caton; her parents; five brothers, Elmo, Bill, Frank, Luther and Earl Dees; and two sisters, Emaline Hensley and Evelyn Edwards, preceded her in death. 

Survivors include one son and his wife, Jackie and Linda Caton, of Harrison; one daughter and her husband, Mary and Glen Eddings, of Kearney, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jason, Dana, Janet and Elizabeth; seven great-grandchildren; one sister and her husband, Betty and Ray Dean Parmer, of Big Spring, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be at noon Saturday, Oct. 29, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. both at Holt Memorial Chapel. Stephen DeMott will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Hefley, Steve Dees, Randy Dees, Todd Crook, Jeff Sinsley and Johnny McKinley. Honorary pallbearers include the staff at Hillcrest Home. 

A picnic will follow at Minnie Harris Park.
