Frances Teresa Guynn, age 83, of Everton, passed from this life into glory on Sunday, Jan. 21 (2018) at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Oct. 5, 1934, in Blackpool, England, the daughter of Billy and Kathleen (Riley) Higham.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Helen Senior, of New Zealand, and Doreen Remboski and Mary Stanley, of Blackpool, England; and her brother, Val Higham, of Blackpool, England.

As a young girl, Fran and her family endured the trauma of World War II. She shared stories of wearing gas masks, bomb raid drills at school, having a bomb shelter in the living room, rationing of food and welcoming refugees into their home.

In December 1955, Fran was working at a cafeteria when a young, tired, hungry GI came in for a ham sandwich and a hot cup of coffee. And, as they say, the rest is history. Glenn and Fran married July 28, 1956, in Blackpool. The young bride followed her career soldier wherever the Air Force sent him. They lived in Germany, France, Newfoundland and various bases in the United States. While stationed at Victorville, California, Fran attained her certification as a nursing assistant and as a respiratory therapist while raising five children.

When Glenn retired from the Air Force in 1979, the family moved to Arkansas. Fran went to work at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center where she served as a respiratory therapist for the next 28 years.

She especially loved her family, caring for them, serving them. She enjoyed her work and her co-workers. She enjoyed decorating her home, traveling, camping, and worshipping with her church. She had a sweet, joyous testimony for her Savior.

Fran is survived by her husband, Glenn R. Guynn Sr., of the home; her sons, Glenn R. Guynn Jr., of Branson, Missouri, Danny Guynn of Everton, Paul E. Guynn, of Harrison, and David S. Guynn, of Everton; her daughter, Donna Rhodes, of Harrison; her sister, Ann Jackson, of Blackpool, England; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Brother Bill Ramsey officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at Crawford Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Zach Guynn, Steve Guynn, Daniel Guynn, David Chatman, Thomas Rhodes, Robby Rhodes and Aaron Guynn.

Memorials may be made to Everton Baptist Church, 11952 Rally Hill Road, Everton, AR 72633.
