Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with interment at Maplewood Cemetery; Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the funeral home.

Fred Brown, age 73, of Harrison, passed away Saturday, May 11 (2019) at Hillcrest Home.  

Fred was born Dec. 31, 1945, in Versailles, Missouri, to George and Alpha (Lingle) Brown.

Fred, along with his loving wife Linda, has been a resident of Harrison since 1974. They were married in 1964 in Versailles. Fred was skilled in many areas and had worked construction, drove trucks for Arkansas Freightways, American Freightways and FedEx, and founded a family business. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and games with family and friends, playing slot machines, basketball, and attending sporting events. His family was his world and absolutely adored spending time with his grandchildren.

Fred is survived by his wife Linda, of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Kelly Brown, of Harrison; two sisters: Emma Vogt and Reva Merriott, both of Versailles; his brother, Ray Brown, of Versailles; his brother-in-law and his wife, Gary and Janet Waller, of New York; five grandchildren and their spouses: Adam (Randi), Logan, Ashley (Arnold), Tegan and Magen; five great-grandchildren: Kennedy, Grayson, Cade, Kinlee and Kimora; and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Charlie, T.L., George Jr. and Dave Brown; and two brothers-in-law, Vencil “Corky” Vogt and Gene Merriott.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with the Reverend. Kennith Stacey officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

Pallbears are Rick Vogt, David Merriott, Rodney Vogt, Jimmy Fowler, Anthony Brown and Joe Cook.

Honorary pallbearers are the VHS Basketball Team Members of 1962-64

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, 800 Marshall Street, Little Rock, AR 72202.
