Haskell “Hack” Grinder, age 90, of St. Joe, passed away Tuesday, March 31 (2015) at Highlands of Harrison at Orendorff.  

He was born Sept. 18, 1924, at Silver Hill, Searcy County, the son of Robert Andrew and Bessie (Johnson) Grinder. 

Along with his parents, Hack was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle (Wyatt) Grinder; his sisters, Betty Taylor, Edna Barringer and Billy Nel Dean; and his brothers, Carmon, Pete, Perry and Ray Grinder.   

He had worked at Claridge Products.   

Hack is survived by his sons, Jerry Grinder and Rick Grinder, both of St. Joe; his daughters, Kay Millsap, of St. Joe and Sue Combs, of Bergman; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family.

Graveside funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 3, at Love Cemetery, with Brother James Smithson officiating. There will be open visitation. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
