James Boyd Colliver, 77, of Harrison, died Monday, April 11 (2011) at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Monty G. Billings officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 15, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Colliver, Anthony Billings, Robert O’Hop, Jeremy Colliver, John Colliver, Bryce Flower and Hunter Sims. Honorary pallbearers include the  ’78 Collie Gang, Jamie Colliver Hall, Angela Colliver, Kim Colliver, Mary Kate Colliver and William Buhr, Sr.

There will be a luncheon at the First Lutheran Church, Harrison, following the graveside service.

The son of Ercell Colliver and Edith (Wakefield) Colliver Henley was born Sept. 29, 1933, at Salina, Kan. He was a member of Eagle Heights Baptist Church. James was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, having served aboard the USS Intrepid. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal. He was an air traffic controller for 40 years. He served as a Union representative for the FAA. In his later years, James’ favorite hobby was his grandchildren and their activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ercell and Helen Colliver and Edith and Clarence Henley, and his beloved wife, Lee Colliver.

He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Michael B. and Myra Colliver and Daniel W. and Veronica Colliver, all of Harrison; daughter and son-in-law, LuEllen and Monty Billings of Luther, Okla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Francis Camarena of Salina, Kan.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James McKnight, Evelyon Krause, and Bob and Ann McKnight; grandchildren and their spouses, Kevin and Ashlee Colliver of Harrison, Tony and Lanea Billings of Luther, Okla., Robert and Jenny O’Hop of Jones, Okla., Jeremy and Ashley Colliver of Harrison, Jamie and Tray Hall of Big Piney, Wyo., Angela Colliver of Arkadelphia and Kim Colliver, John Colliver and Mary Colliver, all of Harrison; great-grandchildren, Kealee Colliver of Harrison, Dylan, Cheyanne and Katie O’Hop, all of Jones, Okla. and James, Christopher and Nicky Billings, all of Luther, Okla.
