John David Bailey

Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at Ozark Baptist Church in Bergman, with Masonic graveside service and burial at Alpena Cemetery; Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at Holt Memorial Chapel.

John David Bailey, 80, of Bergman, died peacefully at Hillcrest Home on Monday, May 30 (2016) with his family gathered at his side. 

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at Holt Memorial Chapel.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at Ozark Baptist Church, in Bergman. Pastor Jamie James will officiate. Masonic graveside services and burial will be held at Alpena Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mike Smith, Gary Smith, Frank Bailey, Bob Roe, Kevin Lippee and Jason King. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. John Leslie, Doyle Lee Bailey, D.L. Bailey, Larry Ray Bailey, Tony Brown, Gene Farrell Howard, Gary Gibson and the Hillcrest ataff. 

The son of Charles “Monk” and Vida Very (Sneed) Bailey was born on Jan. 30, 1936, at Alpena.

John was a member of Ozark Baptist Church and was a 52-year Mason at Yell Lodge No. 64 in Green Forest.

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jo Ann Bailey; one son and his wife, David Wayne and Ann Bailey; two daughters and their husbands, Linda Jo and Bob Brown and Kim and Bret Bolinger; two grandchildren, Colley Bailey and wife Amanda, and Makenna Bolinger; two great-granddaughters, Layla and Scarlett Bailey; one sister, Mary Eva Martin; and two nieces and one nephew.
