Service: Ceremony praising his life from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Moose Lodge in Harrison.

Jonathan Richard Terrell Qaulls was born on Feb. 11, 1986, in Harrison. He resided in the Harrison area his entire life until moving to Fort Smith in July of this year.

After being diagnosed with malignant brain cancer in February 2013, Jonathan fought a tremendously respectful battle, with relentless courage and diligence, determined to always be at the side of his beloved children. Despite every defense Jonathan could possibly put forth over the course of almost three years, Jonathan won his battle on Tuesday, Nov. 17 (2015) at 2:30 a.m., entering a place of eternal rest, leaving from home and arriving there peacefully and free of pain.

Jonathan is survived by his three children, Daylon, Fallonn and Addelyn Qualls, all of Ozark, Missouri; his adoptive parents, Becky Thomason Terrell and Jean Turic, of Fort Smith; one sister, Aimie Terrell, of Harrison; two brothers, Nathan Terrell, of Wasilla, Alaska, and Lance Qualls, of Harrison; his biological parents, Ricky Qualls and DeeDee Qualls; as well as a multitude of loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Last but not least, Jonathan is also survived by his immense following of dear friends made over the course of a life taken too soon.

Jonathan attended schools at Valley Springs, Bergman and Harrison, where he graduated from Harrison High School in 2004.

Jonathan began his working career at the age of 16, working as a dishwasher at Western Sizzlin. Through several years of dedicated hard work, Jonathan worked his way up to the position of assistant manager and maintained that position until he became ill in 2013.

Jonathan was an avid fisherman and well known for being able to outfish the “best of the best.” He also enjoyed camping and canoeing

It was Jonathan’s wishes to have his body donated to research. His wish is that research of his brain may one day prevent other children from losing a parent to brain cancer or other fatal diseases.

A ceremony praising the amazing life of Jonathan Richard Terrell Qualls will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Moose Lodge in Harrison, with everyone encouraged to bring a covered dish for the potluck. Please join us in celebrating Jonathan’s love of family, good friends, good food and good music.

In lieu of flowers, any monetary donations wished to be made will be evenly divided and then be placed into individual trust funds for each of his three children.
