Joyce Norma Lee Collins-Wilson, 69, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away Saturday, Dec. 9 (2017) at home surrounded by her family.

The daughter of Normal and Pauline (Baker) Collins was born June 21, 1948, at Red Rock, in Newton County. She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, graduating high school and began a 36-year-long career with Western Electric (AT&T) that continued with her move to Shreveport, Louisiana, until her retirement in 2002.

She was a Christian and had a strong work ethic that was passed down from her parents, beginning in high school, working part time. Her family was her life, and she was devoted to her children and grandchildren, taking care of everyone's needs ahead of her own. She enjoyed literature and sewing, but cooking was her passion. She also enjoyed time spent with her grandson and best friend, James.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Jackie Collins and Beverly Barnard.

Joyce is survived by her children, Michael Wilson and wife Brietta, Shelly Wilson, and Tracy Wilson all of Louisiana; her brother, Steven Collins, of Missouri; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper, with Stan Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Crossroads Cemetery at Deer.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.

Pallbearers are James Wilson, Jonny Wilson, Richard Collins, Troy Collins Jr., Mike Wilson and Chad Davis.
