Kathy Lawson, age 65, of Jasper, passed away Monday, Aug. 13 (2018) at her home in Jasper.

The daughter of Milton Eugene and Laura May (Collins) Thomas was born April 3, 1953, in Elmira, New York.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Edith Thomas; and mother-in-law, Leona Lawson.

She was a member of the Jasper Church of God (Seventh Day). She moved around to different areas including New York, Ohio, Missouri, South Dakota and California before moving to Arkansas where she lived for 32 yeas.

Kathy was a gentle and generous child of God who loved her family, her church, and her Lord and His Word above all. She was a caregiver through and through, teaching children about Jesus in various churches for over 50 years and ministering to the sick and elder throughout our community for 20 years. So many have been touched by her loving gifts. When we think of Kathy we see her in her garden, in her kitchen baking, organizing a church program and we see her smile in everything as she showed God's grace to others. We are going to miss her so much but we commit her to the Everlasting Arms of God who is Resurrection and Life, and in whom she trusted as one loved and forgiven.

She is survived by her husband, Don Lawson, of the home; her son, Jeremy Lawson and wife Christy, of Harrison; her daughter, Rebekah Everhart and husband Richard, of Clark, Missouri; her brother, Eugene Thomas and wife Dianne, of Horseheads, New York; and six grandchildren, Aiden, Allton, Evan, Bella Lawson, and Noah and Faith Everhart.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at Jasper Church of God (Seventh Day) with Pastor Jason Overman officiating.

Burial will follow at the Church of God Seventh Day Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Isaac Overman, Isaiah Bogle, Daniel Bogle, John Holland, Bradley Holland, and Aiden and Allton Lawson.
