Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at Crossroads Community Church, Harrison, with private burial at Maplewood Cemetery; arrangements with Holt Memorial Chapel.

Kathryne Jean Garrison, of Harrison, passed away on May 19 (2016) at her home with family at her side.

She was the only child of Wilamena “Bonnie” (Bohnseck) Dahn and Dr. H. Paul Carstens. Kathryne was born on Nov. 8, 1934, at Oak Park, Illinois. She lived most of her life in Harrison and had been a longtime member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and most recently Crossroads Community Church.

Her life was centered on her family. She was an excellent cook, loved decorating and celebrating the holidays, especially Christmas, making each one of them special. Spending time with her family was very important to her and many memories were made from the many family vacations she planned.

Kathryne was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her four children, Debbie (Brown) Hudson and husband, John, of Overland, Kansas, Mike Brown and wife, Teresa, of Springfield, Missouri, Elizabeth (Garrison) Barber and husband Reed, of Lake Mary, Florida, and Pat Brown, of Harrison.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren who she adored, Chris Hudson (Katie), Kim Hudson, Tyler Brown (Carmen), Matt Brown (Emily), Summer Brown Barton (Jeff), Gabriella Barber, Lindsey Barber, Delaney Barber and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was adored, loved and cared for by Laura Kibbe, Rita Feliciano, Leotta Hankins and Rosie Reynolds, each who became more like family to all.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at Crossroads Community Church in Harrison, with Brother Paul Braschler officiating. Private burial will be held at Maplewood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Hills.

Arrangements are with Holt Memorial Chapel.
