Service was held from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Woodstock Funeral Home, Woodstock, Ga., with burial at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Ga.

Leontine Joan Rushing, age 75, of Canton, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 8 (2017).

Joan was born on Oct. 23, 1942, in Syracuse, New York, to Leontine Martel Hough and Leonard Hough.

In her younger years, Joan enjoyed dancing. Throughout her life, she was a very dedicated mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother; she took great pride in caring for her family.

Joan was an avid reader, loved crocheting, playing cards and doing cross stitch. She also loved to drive to the mountains for the beautiful views. Joan enjoyed being with her family and reminiscing through photos and remembering the good times from the pictures.

Joan is survived by her husband, Ronald Lee Rushing Sr.; sons, Ron (Carol) Rushing Jr. and Craig Rushing; daughters, Tracy Rushing Cain and Leanne Dillard; brothers, Gilbert (June) Hough and Mark (Barbara) Hough; granddaughters, Carissa (David) Outen, Caitlin Cain and Michaela Rushing; grandsons, Alex Cain, Tyler Rushing and Jacob Dillard; and great-grandson Cian Outen.

Joan was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Hough; mother, Leontine Martel Hough; and nephew, David Hough.

Prayer service was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at the Rushing Family Home in Canton, Georgia.

Funeral service was held from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Woodstock Funeral Home at Woodstock, Georgia, followed by burial at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Georgia.

Pallbearers were David Outen, Alex Cain, Jacob Dillard, Tyler Rushing, Steven Hough and Lenny Hough.

The prayer service and the funeral service was officiated by Deacon Bruce Reed from the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Marietta, Georgia.
