Lona Belle Rogers passed away May 29 (2018).

She was born Feb. 22, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas, and moved to Newton County with her father and step-mother in the mid 70s to Low Gap. She was a member of the Waiver program at Newton County Social Services, where she was able to live in her own home with assistance. She was employed by the Junction and spent many happy hours greeting the people there.

Belle had a wonderful sense of humor and her quirky comments kept all who knew her laughing. She was a great traveler and took trips to see the ocean, Disney World, Branson Belle, Graceland, Hot Springs, and St. Louis, Missouri. She loved to take pictures and loved her pets. She had fish named Jackson and Allen, a cat named Pumpkin who she cared deeply for. She enjoyed art projects and won awards at the fair.

She will be greatly missed in the community that is Newton County. She will continue to put smiles on the faces of those who loved her.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at the Low Gap Cemetery.
