Loyd Arold “Sparky” Sparks, age 82, of Locust Grove went to be with the Lord he loved, Saturday March 19 (2011) at the White River Medical Center, Batesville. He was born on Oct. 29, 1928, on Upper Buffalo to Doy Richard and Bertha Mae Friend Sparks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Troy Sparks; and one grandson, Jerod Loyd Sparks.
Survivors include his wife, Erma Sparks of the home; two sons, Richard Sparks and Dloyd Sparks, both of Locust Grove; five grandchildren, Tori Sparks and Anna Sparks, Ryan Sparks, Ethan Sparks and Dalton Sparks, all of Locust Grove; two sisters, Orphea Wyatt of Berryville and Dorothy Samuels of Fayetteville; three brothers, Wesley Sparks of Compton, James Sparks of Fayetteville and Clyde Sparks of Fallsville; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Concord First Baptist Church, Concord, with Brother John Wofford officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
A second funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at the Boxley Baptist Church at Boxley. Burial will follow in the Plumlee Cemetery located at Compton. Arrangements by Holt Memorial Chapel of Harrison. No visitations are planned.
