Mary Dees, age 94, of Birmingham, Ala., formerly a long-time resident of Harrison, passed away Sunday, May 15 (2011) in Birmingham. She was born to Melville and Ethadee Hannefield Rosencrantz Sr. on July 9, 1916, in Bakersfield, Calif.
Mary was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church and will always be remembered as “the lady with the pretty smile.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Dees; her parents; and two brothers, M.R. Rosencrantz Jr. and O.E. “Rusty” Rosencrantz.
Survivors include her daughter, Holly Dees of Birmingham, Ala. and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private interment will be in Dees Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1751 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, AL 35235.
