Service: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Greenwood, Miss., with interment at Mount Olive Cemetery; Visitation: Noon to 1 p.m. at the church, with local arrangements with Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Mary Ellen “Marilyn” Hughes, age 70, of Omaha, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Sept. 23 (2017) at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born Sept. 21, 1947, in Black Hawk, Mississippi, the daughter of Julius K. and Mary V. (Farrish) Acy. Mary Ellen “Marilyn’s” heavenly reunion included her parents, Julius K. Acy and Mary V. Creel.
Mary Ellen “Marilyn” is survived by her husband of 30 years, Clifton Hughes; her sons and daughters-in-laws, Timothy and Amanda Cochran and Troy and Stacy Cochran; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Janie and Jeff Welborn, Wanda and Winston Street, Vedia Warr and Rachel and Allen Schoen; her brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Bonnie Koursh; four grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Greenwood, Mississippi, with Bro. Dennis Sullivan officiating. Visitation is from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the service. Interment is in Mount Olive Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Troy Cochran, Barry Acy, Raymond Acy, Walter Compton, C. D. Farrish, L. Z. “Jr.” Farrish and Donald Miller.
