Service: Celebration of Life at 12:30 p.m. Monday, July 6, at New Hope Baptist Church, Omaha, with burial at 10 a.m. Monday, July 6, at Denver Cemetery; Visitation: 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 5, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, Branson, Mo.

A Celebration of Life service for Mary Lou Ashley, age 83, of Omaha, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, July 6, at New Hope Baptist Church at Omaha, with Brother Freddy Blevins and Brother Gary Sloan officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 6, at the Denver Cemetery, under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson, Missouri.

She died Wednesday, July 1 (2015) at Point Lookout Nursing and Rehab in Hollister, Missouri.

She was born Nov. 8, 1931, at Boone County, the daughter of Frederick “Slim” and Bessie Roberts Mahler. She was a retired seamstress, working in Kansas City and Branson for many years. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Omaha. She was united in marriage to Roy Gene Ashley on Dec. 25, 1953, in Burlington.

Survivors are her husband, Roy Gene Ashley, of the home in Omaha; a daughter, Gail (Ashley) Burkhart and husband, Toby, of Omaha; one sister, Janyce Cobb, of Omaha; one step-brother, Michael Roberts, of Omaha; three step-sisters, Wanda Quick and Judy Lawson, both ot Springdale, and Donna Nelson, of Pauma Valley, California; and one grandson, Hunter Burkhart, of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Frederick “Rick” Mahler.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 5, at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson, Missouri.
