Service: 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at Woodland Heights Baptist Church, with burial at Maplewood Cemetery; Visitation: 2-4 p .m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at Holt Memorial Chapel.

Robert “Bob” Myers, of Harrison, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8 (2019) surrounded by his family in Springfield, Missouri.

Bob was born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 13, 1947. He was the son of Richard Nelson Myers and Beatrice Lorraine Renaud. 

After childhood, Bob joined the United States Army in 1964. In 1968, Bob moved to Harrison, where he met and married Betty Yeager.

On Nov. 7, 2018, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Bob was a long time local business man, starting Tom-Bar Inc. in 1974. Here he operated a very successful business alongside his family until retiring in 2006. Bob was very generous and loved to help others in need. He was a proud supporter of the Be A Winner program, and numerous other charitable organizations in the community, of which the Hospice House was very dear to his heart. 

Bob loved nothing more than being with his close friends and taking care of his family. 

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billy and Marty Myers; and his beloved daughter, Laurie Ann Myers- Mayfield. 

Survivors include his wife, Betty Myers; son, Richard N. Myers and his wife, Kristi J. Myers; three grandchildren, Kara Reed, Laiken Nelson, and Traig Myers and his wife Meredith Myers; and one great-grandchild, Jaxon Myer Reed. 

Pallbearers are Louis Melton, Sam Scroggins, Rex Isbell, Kenny Halsted, John Keele and Ed Lucas. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Allred,Eddie Adcock, L.D. Shields, Larry Morris, Ross Thornton, Roelof Engleman, Shane Hensley, Bill Burns and John Gaddis.

Visitation services will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at Holt Memorial Chapel in Harrison.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at Woodland Heights Baptist Church (1001 Gipson Road, Harrison) with Dr. Don Crosswhite officiating with the assistance of Pastor Rodney Stromlund. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
