Service: 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at First Baptist Church in Harrison, with burial at Maplewood Cemetery; Visitation: Noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at the church, with arrangements with Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Robert Joe McFerrin went to live eternally with his Lord on Sunday, Dec. 9 (2018).  

He was born July 19, 1942, at Hilltop, the son of Joe C. and Thelma (Borland) McFerrin, whom preceded him in death.

Bob was a member of First Baptist Church making his profession of faith at 9 years of age and an ordained deacon age 25. Bob loved his Lord and Savior, his family, and his friends. He owned and operated three shoe stores in Mountain Home for 32 years. He was a member of the Southwest Shoe Retailers Association, the Western Shoe Retailers Association, was president of the Downtown Merchants Association, was the Director of Parking Authority and served on the Board of Directors for Williams Baptist College for over 10 years becoming a member of the Million Dollar Inner Circle. He also served as an assistant administrator for the Medical Mission Clinic and was a member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association earning his private pilot’s license. Bob loved to fly and water ski.  

Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy King McFerrin; his daughters and sons-in-law, Gwen and Scott Hoffman, Kaysha and Chad Sanders, and Kara and Matt Norcross; his sister, Greta Pinkston; his grandchildren, Ruby Grace Hoffman, Garrett Hoffman, Will Lauermann, Thea Norcross and Ada Norcross; his nieces, Debbie Pinkston and Bonnie Williams; his nephews, David Pinkston, Dan Pinkston and Robert Pinkston; and his beloved friend T.L. Lauermann.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at the First Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. following the visitation at the church with Pastor Rob Davis and Dr. James Dale Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Scott Hoffmann, Garrett Hoffmann, T.L. Lauermann, Will Lauermann, Matt Norcross and Chad Sanders.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Tom Langston, Dr. Lad Brooks, the Diner Coffee Club and Cardiac Rehab Staff.
