Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Holt Memorial Chapel, with burial at Smith Cemetery, at Vendor; Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Holt Memorial Chapel.

Walta Mildred Thomas, of Harrison, passed from this life on Saturday, Aug. 18 (2018) at Hillcrest Home. She was 90 years old.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. both at Holt Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, Aug. 21. The Rev. Vernon Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in the Smith Cemetery at Vendor. Pallbearers are Chad Thomas, Clint Thomas, Jay Parker, Bryan Thomas, Robbie Smith, Jason Cooper and Jack Collier. Honorary pallbearers include Randy Laverty, Hillcrest Home staff, Dr. Tom Leslie, and Levi Retirees.

The daughter of James Oliver and Lilly V. (Reddell) Smith was born on Feb. 15, 1928, at Vendor.

Walta was a member Faith Assembly, and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, cooking and most of all spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Thomas; her parents; four brothers, Dale Smith, Porter Smith, W.H. Smith, and Cecil Smith; one son, Carl Thomas; and an infant sister.

Survivors include one son and his wife, Donald and Brenda Thomas, of Harrison; one brother and his wife, Edward and Iris Smith, of Vendor; one sister and her husband, Hazel and Vernon Cooper, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; six grandchildren, Chad (Krystal) Thomas, of Harrison, Becca (Waylon) Tyler, of Harrison, Sarah (George) Johnston, of Gainesville, Texas, Clint (Evelyn) Thomas, of Harrison, Carla (Jay) Parker, of Harrison, and Tracie Thomas, of Bentonville; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
