William “Billy” Carl Brown of Melbourne, son of Dwight and Barbara Brown, was born Sept. 23, 1966 in Jacksonville. Billy passed away Sunday, Feb. 18 (2018) at White River Medical Center in Batesville, at the age of 51 years, 4 months and 26 days.

He lived in several states during his early childhood but in September of 1975 he called Harrison home. Billy graduated from Harrison High School in 1986 and began studies into his lifelong dream of becoming an author and film maker. He became disabled in his mid-20s, so those dreams were not realized, however he continued with an avid interest in film, books and writing. Billy’s final place of residence was at Pioneer Therapy and Living Center in Melbourne. He was very happy there and was deeply cared for by the facility’s staff.

Billy is survived by his parents, Major Dwight Brown (USAF, retired) and Barbara Brown of Harrison; sister, Debbie Painter and husband, Rickey of Viola; brother, Jeffery Brown of Branson, Missouri; four nephews, Andrew (Erika) Painter, Kevin (Karen) Painter, Hunter (Abby) Brown and Austin Brown; two nieces, Tiffany (Steve) Bowles and Haley Rae Brown; seven great-nephews, Isaac, Conner, A.J., Noah, Liam, Isaiah and Aden; ten great-nieces, Paige, Kayleigh, Kenzie, Caitlyn, Rylee, Raygan, Baylee, Journey, Kennedy and Penelope; and friends that are truly family, Alex and Britney Kiefer.

Pallbearers include Kevin Painter, Steve Bowles, Tim White, Braden White and Alex Kiefer.
