Service: Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Nelson Funeral Service in Green Forest, with graveside service at Pickens Cemetery; Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the funeral home in Green Forest.

William Joe Norton Jr., also known as “Chip," 58, of Eureka Springs, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 11 (2018) in Green Forest.

Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Nelson Funeral Service in Green Forest.

A Celebration of Life service will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Nelson Funeral Service with Donnie Grendell officiating. A family graveside service will follow at Pickens Cemetery.

Chip was born in Harrison, to William Joe Norton Sr. and Sue Westcoat on Dec. 20, 1959. He graduated from Green Forest High School. He married Lori Mitchell on June 1, 1979, in Green Forest. He operated his own construction business. His hobbies were traveling, scuba diving, telling jokes, riding motorcycles, building amazing structures, and triathlon-related activities. Chip suffered heart complications while participating in a cycling race through his hometown area. His wife was right by his side. Chip was larger than life brightening any room with his presence.

Chip was preceded in death by his father, William Joe Norton Sr. and mother, Sue Westcoat.

Chip is survived by his spouse, Lori Mitchell; his children, William Jacob Norton, Jessica Linz, and Joshua Norton; his siblings, Lori Norton and Robert Norton; his grandchildren, Jonah Linz, Journey Linz and Jovi Linz, who is on the way; and several cousins, in-laws, nephews, nieces and friends.

Pallbearers will be William Jacob Norton, Joshua Norton, Justin Linz, Kelly Long, David Stone and Scott Stone.
