Mayor to hold music venue community meeting

Mayor Jerry Jackson will host an informal time for citizens to ask questions and share ideas about the music venue the City and Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) have partnered to bring to reality.

The location will be the former football field, which is located between the tennis and basketball courts and the soccer fields.

“The City Council approved the funding for our half of the project at the meeting on February 22. The Convention Vistors Board of Directors proposed to split the $300,000 projected cost of the project. We’ve spoken to many people in the community and experts in this field, yet we want to allow our citizens to share the ideas they’ve gleaned from other concert venues around the country. We also know some people may have additional questions we can answer before construction begins,” Jackson said.

Everyone interested in this project is invited to attend a public community meeting on Thursday, March 14, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers in City Hall at 118 Industrial Park Road. The community meeting will occur before the City Council’s monthly committee meeting.
