BRANSON — Quilts of Valor of the Ozarks (QOVO) held their first veteran quilt award ceremony on April 10, 2024 at the Branson Area Christian Women’s Connection luncheon. Mr. Richard Collins was honored for his service with the presentation of a Quilt of Valor by six members of the QOVO Chapter, from Kimberling City, MO. more

On March 26, 2024, during a regular meeting of the Harrison Colony Chapter, NSDAR, four students from area school districts received recognition as DAR Good Citizen nominees. These nominees were selected by their school districts based on the qualities they have demonstrated in dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism and were eligible to enter a scholarship essay contest sponsored by Daughters of the American Revolution at the chapter, state, and national levels. more

This year marks the 60th Anniversary of the Harrison Al-Anon Family Group fellowship. On February 1, 1964, the Harrison group registered with the World Service Office as an official group of Al-Anon. It has continued for 60 years to provide mutual support of recovery to the relatives and friends of alcoholics. The group celebrated this accomplishment with a celebration on March 23. more
The Twentieth Century Club met March 7, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church with Jane Adair, Shane Carico, and Diana Ezell serving as hostesses. President Mary Speice called the meeting to order and led the group in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. more

The Harrison Colony Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution has announced the Chapter winner of the Seventh Grade American History Essay Contest. Lucas Crow of Omaha Middle School is the winner. Lucas is the son of Jennifer and Matt Crow. more

The Batavia Friendship Club met at Batavia Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on March 4 at Noon. There were 17 ladies present. We began our meeting with prayer and Pledge of Allegiance followed by a pot luck luncheon and great fellowship. more

Members of the Grubb Springs Extension Homemakers Club met Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM to make prayer pockets to be taken to Three Wishes for Ruby’s Residents. President Dorothy Dinnean opened the regular monthly meeting at 12:30 PM. Roll call was answered by members naming “the most romantic gift I ever received.” Roses topped the list. more
