A hands-on food preservation workshop will be taught in Harrison from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 27, by the University of Arkansas Division Of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service. Agents from Boone, Carroll and Newton will team up to provide some great information, said an extension service spokesman.

This workshop will include the basics skills of food preservation, how to make and preserve salsa and jelly and how to make fruit leathers.

The cost is $10 and participants will get to take home at least one product. Enrollment from all three counties is encouraged and space will be limited. Register by Thursday, June 20, by contacting the Boone County Extension office at (870) 741-6168.

The Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service offers its programs to all eligible persons.
