Local and state officials gave an update on current local and state issues with members of the Harrison Chamber of Commerce and their guests at a “Legislative Update Breakfast” held Wednesday morning at the Durand Center.  Speakers included Harrison Mayor Dan Sherrrell, Boone County Judge Robert Hathaway, State Representatives Ron McNair and Jack Fortson, and State Senator Scott Flippo. Boots Mayberry, a 94 year old WW2 veteran, talked about voting and how important it is. A question and answer session was held at the end of the event.

I've been on staff here for 47 years (started when I was 10). I've worked in all the departments (darkroom, newsroom, advertising, pressroom, mailroom and delivery). I was born and raised in Harrison and have lived here all my life.
