Special Olympics Arkansas Area 2 held their Spring Track and Field event at F.S. Garrison Stadium in Harrison on Friday, April 12. The events kicked off with a torch run featuring officers of the Harrison Police Department and Boone County Sherriff's Office at 8:30 a.m. The torch run began at the  Harrison City Hall and ended at the F.S. Victor Manuel Rocha, 73, of Miami, a former U.S. Department of State employee who served on the National Security Council from 1994 to 1995 and as U.S. Ambassador to Bolivia from 2000 to 2002, pleaded guilty on Friday to secretly acting for decades as an agent of the government of the Republic of Cuba. Immediately thereafter, a federal judge sentenced Rocha to the statutory maximum penalty of 15 years in prison. more
DALLAS — The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) recognized two member financial institutions for their commitment to community investment by naming them 2024 Community Area Revitalization Efforts (CARE) Award recipients.
