Writer’s note: This article is a follow-up to last week’s story about a pro wrestler, one Jim Asbell, who was shot dead during his trial at the Harrison City Hallin October 1924. Asbell had been accused and charged with harassment by the wife of Rufe Adair, both of Harrison. During the trial, Adair walked in front of Asbell, pulled out a .38 pistol, and shot Asbell twice. Asbell died instantly. more

A new airport hangar arrived in pieces to Harrison this week, all set for assembly. Contractors quickly broke ground and began readying the space for the new structure. Funding for the project included a $400,000 grant that was approved by the Arkansas Aeronautics Commission (AAC) back in April 2023. The hangar will be assembled by the SSI NWA construction crew. A local pilot has already leased the hanger. more
The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Brian Sewell and his company, Rockwell Capital Management, agreed to settle fraud charges in connection with a scheme that targeted students taking Sewell’s online crypto trading course known as the American Bitcoin Academy. The SEC alleges that the fraudulent scheme cost 15 students $1.2 million. more
