Members of the boards of the Ozark Arts Council (OAC) and Camp Jack gathered together in the Lyric Theater's lobby on Monday, Jan. 29, to forge plans for a collaborative initiative. The joint effort — "M*A*S*H ‘Em Up For Veterans," seeks to raise over $40,000 through a multi-faceted fundraising campaign. The two groups’ efforts will culminate in a two-weekend performance of the one-act play, "M*A*S*H," at the historic Lyric Theater this November. A special performance of the show will be given after the Veterans Day parade on Nov. 11. more

On Jan. 22, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) discovered two of its detainees were missing from the Dub Brassell Adult Detention Center. The Sheriff's Office concluded that the inmates had escaped within the previous 48 hours. The two escaped detainees were 22-year-old Noah Roush and 23-year-old Jatonia Bryant. Roush was being detained on probable cause for residential burglary and theft of property and is also a suspect in a homicide. Jatonia was being detained on probable cause for capital murder. more
