LITTLE ROCK — Jonathan D. Ross, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, announced this week that a former Bryant High School teacher has pleaded guilty to transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of unlawful sexual activity. Heather Hare, 33, of Conway, entered this guilty plea before United States District Judge Lee P. Rudofsky. more
The pilot of a small plane was killed when it crashed at Clinton National Airport in Little Rock. Airport officials say the Cirrus SR 22 took off from the airport Sunday afternoon. The pilot declared an emergency, and then crashed north of the airport’s cargo building. The pilot was the only person on board. Little Rock Police on Monday identified the pilot as 62-year-old William Cope. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The National Transportation Safety Board will work to determine the cause of the crash.  more

Arkansas Citizens for Transparency (ACT), a nonpartisan group, filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin over his rejection of their proposed constitutional amendment, frequently referred to as the "Arkansas Government Transparency Act." The amendment, aimed at embedding the Freedom of Information Act in the state constitution, had been rejected by Griffin multiple times.
