Posted

Service at 2 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with burial at Maplewood Cemetery; Visitation: 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at the funeral home.

Michael (Mike) Thomas Nichols, age 44, of Adair, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 2 (2018).

Mike was born June 13, 1973, in Harrison, the son of Bill and Susie Nichols.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Frankie Langston, and Archie Nichols; and an infant son, Jacob Keith.

Mike loved and adored his children, and his greatest desire was for them to know how much Jesus loves them. While he had many struggles, he walked and talked the love of Jesus. His compassion for others to know Him was immeasurable and he wanted everyone to come to salvation through Christ. Mike is in a better place and no longer struggling with the things of this life. He was a man of Christ and wanted to be the man God wanted him to be. Mike was all about giving, always making sure others were before him, and he cared so much about people, just as Jesus did. In a moment of weakness satan took a huge piece from all of us... Mike touched so many lives. He never knew how much impact he had on those around him.

Though we will never be at peace with this tragedy, we do have ultimate peace in knowing that this is only a temporary separation and God is in control. Mike knew his need for salvation and forgiveness so he is now walking with peace in the presence of Christ and one day we know that we will see him again.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Addison (Addy) Lea Nichols; two sons, Caden (Cade) Michael Nichols and Zane Matthew Nichols; his parents, Bill and Susie Nichols, of Valley Springs; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Sarah and Rob Underdown, of Alpena, and Becki and Josh Graves, of Valley Springs; his grandmother, Iva Nichols, of Valley Springs; his nieces, Katie Underdown and Makenzie Graves; his nephews, Logan Underdown, Eli Graves and Archer Graves; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and coworkers who will miss him more than what words can express.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison, with Brother Sam Wilson and Brother Carl Garvin officiating. He will be laid to rest at Maplewood Cemetery.Visitation will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at the funeral home.
