Norma Jean Forest

A graveside service celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 16, at  York Cemetery in Bergman, under the direction of Roller-Christensen Home.

Norma Jean (Harp) Forest, age 85, passed with peace and grace and went to be with her heavenly Father on Thursday, July 12 (2018).

She was born on Dec. 9, 1932, in Yardelle, to the late Lillian Blanche (Crow) Harp and Curt Harp. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Forest for 35 years.

Norma was dearly loved by her son and daughters, Carolyn Williams and husband Dwane Williams, of Bergman, Sue Nichols and husband Bill Nichols, of Western Grove, Linda Carter and husband John Carter, of Western Grove, Tony Forest and wife Suzanne Forest, of Harrison, and Jennifer Moore and husband Jesse Moore, of Bergman.

Norma was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, Ralph, who died while serving in the United States Army during the Korean War, Kenneth Harp and Arlin Harp; and a grandson, John Tyler Carter.

Norma attended public school in Yardelle and finished her education by later obtaining her GED. Thereafter, she worked for Harrison Area Agency on Aging, dedicating her time and energy and working tirelessly for the elderly. Her greatest passions included gardening, reading her Bible, fashion and fried chicken. She was a long-time member of the First Assembly of God Church, and more recently, a member of the Union Road Assembly of God Church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hillcrest Nursing Home for the exceptional care they gave Norma.

A graveside service celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 16, at York Cemetery in Bergman, under the direction of Roller-Christensen Home with Pastor Heath Kirkpatrick officiating. Pallbearers will be Norma’s grandsons.
