Ruby Drewry

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Smith Cemetery in Vendor; arrangements by Holt Memorial Chapel.  

Ruby Arlene Drewry, of Harrison, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 26 (2020) at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was 68 years old. 

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Smith Cemetery, in Vendor. Dorvin Ricketts will officiate. Pallbearers are Chancy Campbell, Kelis Campbell, Allec Ricketts, James Taylor Spears, Nathan Ray Spears, Zach Johnson and Waylon Eldridge. Honorary pallbearers include Kevin Reed, the Imaging Department at FedEx, and her great-nephews. 

The daughter of William Virgil and Ellen Louise (Ricketts) Spears was born June 26, 1952, in Vendor.

Ruby enjoyed hanging out with her sisters, shopping, going to gospel singings, going to church, and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed having her grandchildren over for sleep overs.  Ruby loved going to Beacon Park every summer with her sister Donnie for the gospel singing gatherings. Her family was a top priority of hers. She had a big heart and helped everyone in need. 

Ruby was a blessing to everyone that met her, and she always wore a smile on her face. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richie Drewry; brother, Ronnie Spears; brother-in-law, Doyal Campbell; niece, Melissa Faye Campbell; and a great-nephew, Dalton Ricketts. 

Survivors include two sisters, Gena Bolin and husband, Hubert, of Jasper, and Donnie Campbell, of Mt. Judea; one daughter, Valerie Hughes, of Omaha; grandchildren, Bo Lange, and Huckleberry, Hazin  and Hattie Hughes; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
