Vivian Rose Curtis, of Harrison, passed away Wednesday, July 11 (2018) at Hillcrest Nursing Home at the age of 90.

The daughter of Bert and Ruby “Jimmie” (Norris) Jackson was born March 19, 1928, at Myrtle. A resident of Boone County most of her life, she was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ.

Vivian enjoyed fishing and cooking for her family. She was a hard worker on their family farm, doing everything from cutting hay to milking, in addition to taking care of her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to have fun. She especially enjoyed time with her sister, Verba.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 71 years, Thomas Curtis; three brothers, Vaughn, Vale and Voyt Jackson; and four sisters, Vernice Roberts, Verba Whitney, Verlee Evans-Martin and Velma Blevins.

Vivian is survived by her sons, Donnie Curtis and wife Lois of Harrison and Rick Curtis and wife Marquita of Lead Hill; her daughter, Vina Ryan and husband Bert of Harrison; six grandsons; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Johnnie Sharp and Jessie Creamer both of Harrison; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved her and will miss her.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.

Graveside service will be held at a later date.
