January is Healthy Weight Month so becoming physically active has proven to help with achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. We live in Arkansas, so the weather is always changing from cold to warm. We may want to act like bears that lounge, sleep, and over-eat, but one look in the mirror or that out-of-breath feeling brings us back to the realization that healthy eating and physical activity are important. People of all ages who are generally inactive can improve their health and well-being by becoming active with moderate intensity on a regular basis. He will be laid to rest in the Smith Family Cemetery. Brenda is my sister in-law, so that brings the situation close to home. Pastors Jeanine Newsome and Rickey Stone will officiate the service. I am very thankful for the warmer weather. I hope this does not mean we will be hit with a blasting cold in February! more

Greetings from Capps. After returning from New Mexico, I had surgery on my left shoulder last Thursday, and am healing up well. Dr. Cutler and the surgical team at NARMC did a great job. I'm already back to work at the store so feel free to drop by and say hello. Our Townhouse coffee club friend, Mike Masterson, had surgery last week in Little Rock. He's been through a lot the last year. Sadly, our friend Jesse Moore passed away last Tuesday. He was only 57 and will be greatly missed. He co-owned the Kleenrite septic service business for many years. His memorial service was held Friday at Restoration Life Fellowship in Batavia. Please keep his family in your prayers. ARDOT crews continue to work on the drainage along Highway 392 so be careful and watch for flaggers and equipment by the roadside. Hopefully they will work on the road surface in the year ahead as well. As always, I look forward to hearing from you about events, happenings (current or historical) and people in the Capps area. Blessings, Doug more
