The month of June is Cat Adoption Month. The front desk staff at the Boone County Library have placed information on cat adoption at the front door and throughout downstairs. When considering adopting a pet, take your time. We hope that you will consider your local shelter when thinking about adding a pet to the family.
Adult programs are for ages 18 plus and begin at 5:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
Tuesday, June 25 is our monthly Buffalo National River Partners program. BNRP will be presenting "Eco Tour Throwback." This will be a panel discussion of the history of Newton County Resource Council's Eco-Tours and their success.
Thursday, June 27 is "Paint a Galaxy." We have welcomed back guest artist Jean Hankins to show us how we too can enjoy the relaxing benefits of painting. Seating is limited to 24, and it is first come first serve. Doors to the program open at 5:15 p.m. Children are welcome to attend if accompanied by an adult.
During the summer months, the children's department has created fun and educational programming that will suit any age up to 18 years.
Monday, June 24, is a movie showing of the 1990's cult classic Space Jam. This movie is rated PG. Popcorn and drinks will be provided for a full, free movie watching experience. Showings will be held starting at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Tuesday, June 25 at 3 p.m. The Cake Shop is coming over for a Cookie Decorating class. Due to the increased interest in this program, the children's department asks that you register upstairs with them to ensure you have a place. Sixty spots will be available the day of the event. The program is intended for ages 6-18 years.
Thursday, 27 at noon the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is stopping by with their mobile fish aquarium. Everyone is invited to come learn about the different types of fish.
Story Time is on Thursdays at 10 a.m. for children ages birth to 5 years.
