We, the Walter Smith Family, had our annual family reunion on Memorial Day. We always enjoy getting together with the brothers, sisters, and nieces and nephews.

Dana Shrader will be the guest speaker Sunday Morning, May 5, at Restoration Life Fellowship Church. There will be a potluck dinner served after the services in celebration of both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day combined. There will be an evening service beginning at 6 p.m. and the speaker is a missionary to China. I don’t know the names, but he is a cousin to Pam Stone. I am anxious to hear his testimony and what is going on in China. Everyone is welcome to attend both services.

Pastors Phillip and Rachel Collie from Batavia Assembly of God, traveled to Russellville on Wednesday and Thursday, May 22-23 for a visitation and funeral. Clayton Journagan, youth pastor, preached the Sunday morning service at Batavia Assembly of God on May 26. Following the service, the youth group sold sack lunches to raise money for Speed the Light, an organization within the Assemblies of God that furnishes missionaries with needed supplies such as vehicles, printing presses, boats and equipment needed to reach the lost for Jesus.

Batavia Assembly of God celebrated their graduates on Sunday evening, May 26 with a special service and reception. The graduates were Bobbijo Erickson, graduating from Northark College; Kali Carter, graduating from ASU; and Veda Farmer, graduating from Deer High School.

Tollie Sutterfield, pastor emeritus, preached a powerful, encouraging message, Pastors Phillip and Rachel Collie presented the graduates with a genuine leather, Life in the Spirit Study Bible. Following the service, there was a reception with cake and ice cream in the fellowship hall. Sharon Howard recently retired from Valley Springs School District after 19 years. Howard was surprised during Batavia Assembly of God's recent graduation celebration, with her own cake and table. She loves children and is currently one of the van drivers at Batavia Assembly of God. She would love to pick your kids/grandkids up for church this summer. Contact the church at (870) 741-3660 for a ride.
