Greetings from Capps.
We attended the Rusty Wheels Tractor Club wing-ding last Saturday in Bellefonte. I helped our friend and neighbor Ken move some of his contraptions over there the week before. It was a beautiful day and it looked like everyone was having a good time.
I had a few pieces of cut wood end up in my driveway one day and then a cars' rock guard the next. I guess that's what I get for living on a big curve with a bump in the road right next to it. It will be interesting to see what "lands" next. (A tractor would be great)
Monday night was the Capps/Batavia Fire board meeting. There were 12 in attendance and the recently elected board members were confirmed and officers voted in and installed. The focus is getting everything in top shape to insure readiness and response to fires in our area. If you know someone who volunteers at Capps or is a first responder elsewhere, be sure to thank them for their service to the community.
The Homesteaders Swap Meet will be Saturday (today) from 8-noon at the Capps Mini Storage on Old Capps just off Highway 392. They have a Facebook page also if you're interested. They're generally held the first and third Saturdays, same time and place.
As always, your announcements, news and upcoming events in the Capps area are welcome. Blessings to all, especially my editor, Yvonne Cone, who is retiring from the Harrison Daily Times after 46 years.
